Peanut butter choco chip banana muffins

Now say that 10 times fast ! Haha

A couple of my friends requested I start putting recipes up because I blow up instagram when I bake/cook. So tonight I threw together a random mix of ingredients and it turned out pretty delicious! 

Little back story here:

I love Pinterest no doubt about it! In Korea we are limited to the things we can find that are things that we easily take for granted in America. Example, sour cream. The base recipe is from Pinterest and I just rummage through my pantry/fridge to see what I had. 

Recipe:

• 2 ripe bananas
• 1 cup greek yogurt (my sour cream substitute)
• 1 cups white sugar 
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups wheat flour (just what the normal flour is in Korea)
• 1/2 cup melted butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs

This is where it gets creative

• 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
• 2/4 cup reeses peanut butter chips
• about a handful of walnuts

Now this part right above you can change depending on taste. I had nuts and they were reaching their expiration date so I used them haha

1. Mix wet and dry ingredients together 
2. Pour them into cupcake liners
3. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes. Until they are nice and golden brown
4. This recipe makes around 12 it could be more. It's usually more... 

* side note: Sometimes when I'm feeling pretty lazy I throw this glorious mixture into a bread pan and bake it at 350 for about 45-60 minutes. I check it after 45 minutes and poke it with a chop stick to see if it's still gooey inside. 

I went a little heavy on some of them hahaa oops! 

I usually cut this recipe in half because it makes so much and food tends to go bad pretty quickly here. I make sure and keep them in air tight containers to maintain fresssshness. :)

It's right across from Central Park at the first intersection

The store will be on the side not facing Central Park. It's a small shop so you could probably miss it pretty easily.

This is the view from the Park side. So it's directly across from the park but still it's hidden from the front. So you just have to look closely. 

So I apologize I forgot to take a clear picture of the front of the shop! But this is what it looks like from the inside! ^^

As I said pretty small on the inside  but they have a decent assortment of cheeses! I bought some bacon here! The good American hickery smoked. YUM

They've got your chocolate needs covered as well. 

CAMPBELL'S SOUP! Needless to say I went to town on the tomato soup! Also they have a nice Japanese section. 

Here is the cracker/cookie section. Nice little variety good on.

This is what I bought! I spent so much he threw in some honey butter chips! haha He was super nice! 

Overall:

Not a bad place for foreign foods, even though you can find some of the things are home plus. This was a bit expensive but what foreign food isn't expensive here. It also sure beats going to Itaewon! 

I will definitely be back for other goodies!

행복한접시 Felice Piatto - Dongtan

So the first week end we moved here it was pretty hectic and there was a lot to do in a short amount of time.

Sunday we ventured out of our Metapolis bubble and across the major road into a whole new world of delicious looking restaurants and boutiques. I don't know the exact name of the area but the map at the bottom can provide some help!~ 

Here's the intersection.. a blurry version the restaurant is behind the white sign in the background. So we walked around and the restaurant is next to Baby Guiness... if that helps at all haha

We walked in and the restaurant was pretty empty so we got our choice of where to sit! 

There interior is cute and very clean and well organized. We ordered a pasta dish each and a margherita pizza. 

This was my chicken carbonara ! I am very picky when it comes to cream sauces in Korea. It's always very runny and the consistency of soup, but this was perfect! It was thick and velvety and it left me wanting more! 

This is what my boyfriend got. He prefers red sauce and anything spicy enough to set your bowels on fire. His was called Arrabbiata and it was pretty delicious. I only tried a bite but he gave it rave reviews. He practically licked the plate. 

 

The pizza may not look like much but the crust was nice and thin. The sauce didn't over power the pizza and it was delightful! I highly recommend it! 

The presentation was nice and clean and we pretty much left the plates clean. haha I cleaned mine with the pizza crust. 

I thought the meal was over but all of a sudden FREE dessert came out! We got to choose between chocolate cake and cheese cake. The chocolate was pretty delicious! 

Since it was late I opted for the free orange juice and my boyfriend got tea.

Overall I can't wait to eat there again and try out some new dishes! The prices are moderately priced. Definitely not cheap, but it's about 10 bucks a plate, which isn't bad for the portion they give you. If your in the Central Park neighborhood check it out and let me know what you think.

Hongdae Foodie

So Saturday was pretty busy for me! But that doesn't mean I stayed in! Karla, Sarah and I definitely had a foodie/drinky kinda evening.

Gusto Tacos - Hongdae 

This was pretty delicious!

 Sure it's not exactly Tex-Mex but it still satisfied the tortilla craving. The handmade corn tortillas were delicious! This is carne asada and it was awesome having a good ole Dos XX. 

After this Sarah and I took down another tortilla each haha it was just too good to pass up! 

After that we walked up and down the strip because Sarah wanted to take us to this one place that has amazing pizza and subzero ice cream. 

I took a picture of this building just because it was visually interesting. Im not sure what it is but it's cool looking haha So after getting a little lost we finally found the pizza place!

Coyote Saloon - Hongdae

This is my white russian drink and we tore up some 4 cheese pizza. It was a little on the pricey side but there were 3 of us so we split it evenly so it didn't make it too bad. The restaurant was pretty cute it was up on the 2nd floor and made for some good people watching. 

After this it was time for my first Hongdae club experience.

Not going to lie I was a little nervous because I haven't been out out since I was in college so I figured this was going to be an experience haha 

We went to Papa Gorilla's near Cocoon and it was pretty fun. It's funny to see the girls dancing here because they dance with their hands its pretty cute.

The night was a lot of fun it was good to get out and blow off some steam from the week!
